On June 16, Father’s Day, the Temple Members will be visiting Waipahu Taiyoji, the first Soto Mission Temple in Hawaii, as well as visiting Rev. Ryokei Ishii, who was one of our resident ministers here at Betsuin. After that, we will be going to the Hawaiian Railway in Ewa for a Private Train Ride to learn about the history of the Plantation Era and viewing the beautiful coast of Ewa. This will be a great way to spend time with your family (especially on Father’s Day). The temple will provide bus transportation. Please be at the temple by 8:15 AM.

8:00 Check-in at Betsuin

8:15 Opening Service

8:45 Leave Betsuin for Waipahu Taiyoji

9:15 Arrive at Taiyoji, Service, Welcome Message by Rev. Ryokei Ishii, Temple Tour

10:00 Leave Taiyoji for Hawaiian Railway

11:00 Private Train Ride (90min)

12:30 Lunch, Free time to see trains and toy train museum

1:30 Leave Hawaiian Railway

2:00 Arrive at Betsuin

Cost: Adult$30 Children $20 (Includes Train Ride, Lunch and Drink)

*Please bring your own offerings to Taiyoji. We will becollecting $1 tip for the bus driver.

Maximum Bus capacity is 24 people. We will close signuponce we reach that count.
